HOW
DO I...
REGISTER
WITH THE PRACTICE?
The practice welcomes new patients
who live in our area. When registering, patients are asked to complete a questionnaire.
We prefer that all the other members of your family join the practice at the
time of the initial registration. We believe that good primary medical care depends
on the doctors knowing the whole family and its problems. At your first consultation
you will be invited to have your blood-pressure and urine checked. We expect
all cervical smear tests and immunisations to be undertaken at our surgery.
HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN
TELEPHONE ADVICE?
If you wish to speak to a doctor
there is a telephone advice slot each morning after surgery. The doctors are
happy to speak to you on the phone if it is not interrupting a consultation.
This may save you time by avoiding unnecessary consultations or visits.
Please phone between 11.30am and
12 noon. You may be asked to phone back later if the doctor has been particularly
busy that morning.
HOW
DO I...
MAKE
AN APPOINTMENT?
Patients are seen by appointment
only at 10-minute intervals. All urgent and non-urgent appointments can be arranged
through the receptionists.
If more than one member of your family needs to see the doctor please make sure you book one appointment for each person. If you have several problems you would like to discuss please book a double appointment.
Most appointments are bookable on the day. However, each doctor has six appointments per day, which can be booked up to two weeks in advance.
Please make one appointment per patient and let us know as soon as you can if
you cannot attend, so that another patient can take your place. We do use text messages to send appointment reminders and other information direct to patients' mobile phones. The service also allows you to cancel appointments quickly and easily if you need to. To find out more and sign up call our reception team on 020 7385 6001.
HOW
DO I...
REQUEST
A HOME VISIT?
Please telephone before 10.00am
if you are too ill to attend the surgery and wish to request the doctor to visit you at home.
HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN
TEST RESULTS?
These are available over the telephone.
Please ring between 12 noon and 12.30pm for assistance.
HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN REPEAT
PRESCRIPTIONS?
For safety reasons requests
cannot be accepted by telephone as this could lead to mistakes (some drugs have
similar-sounding names).
To provide a safe and speedy service most prescriptions are computerised. If
you are on repeat medication you will have a print-out of all your drugs. When
you require a repeat prescription please submit the print-out by hand, post or
fax to the surgery indicating the items you require. Please allow 48 hours before
collection. If you wish us to post it back to you, please enclose a stamped addressed
envelope.
